I’m here today to talk about the unethical email message that Nexon Korea has sent to me without even having a private server online.

Today – September 24th, 2009, Nexon decided to send me a “Request to Cease and Desist All Activities Related to Unauthorized Operation of MapleStory Servers”.

I went and read their “Cease and Desist” letter and the reason to why I got such message or warning if that’s how they want to call it.

The reasons given:

1. The setting up of and/or operation of an unauthorized MapleStory game Server(s), which redirect game players from Nexon’s Official game servers.

Answer: To whom it may concern, if you could have taken the time to search around the site/forum, you would of have known that there’s no server online.

2. Unauthorized access to and use of Nexon’s client software for the creation of and misuse of illegal software.

Answers: Again, there’s no such things at www.maplegeek.com nor in www.maplegeek.com/community.

3. Use of unauthorized client patch programs to improperly interfere in the game and undermine the game play for other users of MMORPG.

Answers: Have you found any such client patch programs? NO!

4. Setting up of and/or operation of forum channels, which promote active involvement in and enable any of the above activities.

Answer: At MapleGeek, there’s no forum channel(s) promoting the involvement of any development nor enabling access to files that doesn’t belong to MapleGeek and/or MapleWire.

Notice to Nexon Kr and/or Sunaries:

All these cease and desist letters are getting so old that people doesn’t really pay attention to your messages anymore. We all know you took OdinMS servers for investigation and a lawsuit is currently in place, but just so you know.. MapleGeek is not hosting any illegal files that belong to Nexon, so please stop sending such messages as it might be considered harassment in the United States.

This picture makes me think if Nexon’s attorney is sitting on a chair semi-naked sending out emails because he has nothing better to do.

It seems like Nexon’s attorney send emails just because he/she sees the word MapleStory in a website.

Do anyone know if the Attorney understand or if he/she can at least read in English?

And before I finish this blog, people are entitled to 30 days notice and 3 notifications before a lawsuit can be made, so you may want to take that in mind before making your “14 days undertaking notice”.
